Things to do in Bocca di Magra

From Bocca di Magra you can take ferryboat rides to Punta Corvo (The Black Bird's Point) if you can't climb down the steep 700 meters to the otherwise inaccessable black beach, or go for easy or difficult walks in the National Park of Monte Marcello. Just take in the sun or visit Roman ruins at Luni or Ameglia.

You can view this beautiful Maritime National Park by car, bicycle or on foot taking the easy paths or the more difficult paths according to your physical ability. Visit the town on the top of the hill for a voyage back into time.

Punta Corvo Beach

The ferry boat can be boarded at Fiumaretto boarding dock in Bocca di Magra and it takes fifteen beautiful minutes to reach the black beach at Punta Corvo (The Black Bird's Point). Then all passengers are disembarked by way of a ladder that discends from the front of the boat to the beach. If you have an inflated boat or canoe - just throw it into the water toward the beach and then go down the ladder with your towel and water bottle to the beach to recuperate it. Wear rubber sandals. Navigazione Marittima has its Embarcadero departure dock at the public park by Vittoriani Street. Besides the excursions to the PUNTA CORVO beach every half hour from 9 to 19:00, it makes trips to the Cinque Terre for organized groups. In July and August it makes night time excursions to Porto Venere every Saturday at 21.30 and returns AT 23:30. There is a big parking lot 50 meters away from the Embarcadero.
