This restaurant is recommended by several guides and rightly so.

The owner, Romeo (who waited on us), his wife (who is a scientist when she's not making magic in the kitchen) and their son Francesco (the sommelier) have a gem of a restaurant just a few blocks off Via Trastevere.

Everything we had to eat was fantastic, as was the wine. And the diners around us - some of whom we got to know over the course of our three-hour meal - seemed equally impressed.

Make certain you make reservations. The restaurant is small. You might also want to ask directions, as it's tucked away on a quiet street.
