Rimini is a popular tourist destination. There are several beautiful beaches, resorts and forts worth visiting while holidaying in this beautiful historic town. This city of Italy is one of the most preferred destinations for nature lovers. The following are just a few places worth visiting.

Ponte di Tiberio – (The Tiberius Bridge)

This is a roman bridge that is well preserved and is a great place to visit. Crossing this bridge either on bicycle or by car has its own experience; it takes you to the past. This bridge is built with Istrian stone and is about 2,000 years old.

Roman Amphitheater

You can visit the Roman amphitheater by yourself or you can get on one of the tours that are arranged for visitors to the city. Enjoy an evening of classical music at this theater; there are also several other concerts that take place at the amphitheater. The theater was built to accommodate about ten thousand spectators at a time. The setting of this theater is still centuries old and this gives you an ancient thrill. You can easily walk to the theater from Rimini city.

Tempio Malatestiano (The Malatesta Temple)

This is the church of San Francesco and it is popular for its classic architecture. It is also the most important monument of Rimini and is very well maintained. It is the oldest church in Rimini that describes the golden age with its exquisite structure. Visit this church and take in the beauty of its ancient architecture.

The Porta Montanara Gate (Porta Sant’Andrea)

This is a gate located near Piazza Tre Martiri at the end of very lively shopping street. It has a ghostly look and is located in the middle of the street. It was used by the traders and farmers who came from the hills of the Marecchia Valley to enter and exit the market place. The gate was destroyed and rebuilt many times during the wars, the most damage being done during the Second World War.

Arco di Augusto – (The Augustus Arch)

This is one of the popular sites in Rimini; it is an ancient arch from Roman times that has survived till today. It was constructed in 27 B.C and it is devoted to Augustus. The original archway had a huge structure but with the time it was lost; however, you can still clearly see the ornamental carving and features of Apollo, Jupiter, Neptune and Roma. During the ancient time this was used to enter into Rimini.
