Teatro San Carlo (San Carlo Theatre)
Teatro San Carlo is a stunning theater built in 1737 and is located at Via San Carlo in Toledo, Naples. Several magnificent plays, operas and acoustic concerts take place in this theatre. This enormous structure has 6 levels of VIP lounges that have over 200 seating boxes. Besides the theater’s amazing architecture and performances, you will also be amazed by the grandiose gardens of Palazzo Reale. Even if you are unable to get a ticket for a concert here, you can simply go on a guided tour to explore Teatro San Carlo.
Naples’ Acquario (Aquarium)
This children-friendly hot spot is one of the oldest of its kind in Europe. The Naples’ Acquario was built during the 19 th century in Via Caracciollo’s public gardens. Here you will find more than 200 species of marine plants and animals. There are several large aquariums made of durable glass that serve as homes to these different species. The Naples’ Acquario is popular attraction for both adults and children alike.
Certosa di San Martino
Certosa di San Martino is a stunning architecture situated right on the hills of Sant'Elmo. This structure used to be a Carthusian monastery but was later on transformed into a museum when the Carthusians were expelled from Naples. You will be amazed by the rich Barocco Napolitano architecture of Certosa di San Martino plus the magnificent bird view of the city. Today Certosa di San Martino house the famous Il Museo di San Martino that showcases great Baroque artworks and decorations, astounding century-old paintings and Naples’ most priced monuments.
Water Sports by the Bay of Naples
After exploring the various places on dry land it is time to head for the waters of Naples. If you love water sports, the Bay of Naples is your next best destination. Here you can engage in water skiing, scuba diving, windsurfing, canoeing and of course swimming. The best and cleanest part of this bay is located in the district of Capri. You can also go on a submarine trip all around the Naples or perhaps fishing with your friends. If you have your own boat or yacht, you can bring it to Naples without any paper work. But there is a catch, you should transport it by car and it should only stay for less than 6 months in Naples.
A Day at the Beach
There are also several beautiful but small beaches in Naples. You can enjoy the public beaches with grey volcanic sand for just a small fee. Some of the best beaches in Naples are Minori, Capri, Positano, Almafi and Procida.

The Phlaegrean Fields (Campi Flegrei)
Edit ThisCampi Flegrei means, “burning fields.” This area is highly volcanic in nature. Although the areas volcanoes are not considered active today, Campi Flegrei still has a good amount of seismic activity – a giant earthquake took place here as early as 1980. Area attractions include: Pozzuoli Old City, Pozzuoli Amphitheater, Arco Felice, Monte Nuovo, Cumae, Bacoli, Capo Miseno, and Baia Castle to name a few. Vineyard Tours (Mastroberardino)

Castel dell’Ovo (Castle of the Egg)
Edit ThisOverlooking the Gulf of Naples, on the islet of Megaride is this 2,000-year-old fortress constructed by Frederick II. The site is believed to be that of the Parthenope – the original Greek settlement. Visitor’s can explore the exterior of the castle – which offers panoramic views, but the interior is for private events only.

National Museum of Archaeology (Museo Archeologico Nazionale)
Edit ThisThe National Museum of Archaeology houses the remains of towns buried by Mount Vesuvius during the eruption in 79 AD. Other pieces on display here, which make the collection the largest archaeological collection in history include artifacts from cities such as Baia, Capri, Capula, Nola, and Pozzuoli, to name a few. Also on site is the Farnese Collection, acquired from Charles of Bourbon at the beginning of the 19th century. This is the largest art collection in Italy. Hours: 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

Palazzo Reale (The Royal Palace)

Piazza dei Martiri (Martyr’s Square)
Edit ThisThis monument square is home to a memorial column surrounded by four lion statues. The square, originally dedicated to Santa Maria Cappella, is now dedicated to four different patriotic struggles (represented by the lions) – the Neapolitan Revolution (1799), the uprisings of 1820 and 1848, and the war of unification of 1860.

Orto Botanico (Botanical Gardens)
