Cruises in Ischia
Edit ThisTake a Cruise to One of the Oldest Cities in the World
Being in Ischia gives you the opportunity to take advantage of various Ischia Cruises. This is a great chance for you to take a 40 km cruise through the Mediterranean to the lovely city of Naples, a city rich in art and culture and one of the oldest cities in the world, formed back in the eighth century B.C. Here is what you can see both in your starting point (Ischia) and in Naples.
Ischia
Before leaving Ischia, don’t miss seeing its famous Aragonese Castle. The castle was built in 474 B.C. on a massive rock on the waters near the city. The rock is connected with the land through a marvelous stone bridge built in 1441 by the king of Aragon. The castle is the main sight of Ischia and visited by many tourists each year.
Naples
Naples is very rich in sights, with many historical and architectural places. There are numerous buildings showing architecture from the Baroque, Medieval and Renaissance periods. The things that you definitely shouldn’t miss seeing, after your ships docks at the city harbor, are the Royal Palace and Teatro di San Carlo (the oldest and largest Italian opera house) on the main city square, and the Castel Nuovo, a magnificent medieval castle built in 1279, which became a symbol of Naples. If you have enough free time, consider visiting the magnificent Naples Archeological Museum.
