Travel Guide in Benevento

Edit This

Using this Benevento travel guide will tell you where you need to go and what you need to do in the town of Benevento. Benevento is located about 31 miles away from Naples on a hill about 300 feet above-sea level. Like many other Italian towns, Benevento's economy relies on vine, tobacco and olives, but the main industry is making pasta.

Getting Around

The best way to get around town is to rent a car so you can drive wherever you need to go. It will also enable you to take road trips during the day. If you don't want the hassle of renting a car, you can opt for calling for a taxi to take you places or you can walk to where you need to be.

Sights

The ancient ruins simply can't be missed because of how important they are to the history of Benevento. At the ancient ruins, you will want to look at the triumphal arch, but also the Via Traiana. Santa Trinita should also be high on your list because it represents the best European architecture from around 760.

Nightlife

Benevento doesn't have very much to offer during the evening hours, but you do have a few selections. If you are looking for something to do in the early hours of the evening, you can check out San Marco or the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele II. Both of these theaters
offer you the chance to catch a show, but you will want to call ahead to find out what is playing and when.

Accommodations

Torre Gaia Wine Resort is a great place to stay because it is a working winery so you can receive a great tour and have the opportunity to purchase their wine. Rooms at Torre Gaia Wine Resorts start around $154. If you are looking for a cheaper place, you might want to
check out the Grand Hotel Italiano for $104 a night. One of the best things about the Grand Hotel is that even if you miss breakfast, you can still get a pastry and a cappuccino from the friendly staff.

Restaurants

While in Benevento, you need to stop into at least one restaurant so that you can sample some authentic Italian cuisine. One place that you should try is Ristorante Nunzia. Even though it is a bit on the pricey side, the food is great. You can expect to spend $29 to $36
per person at dinner, but lunch will be cheaper.
