These towns are typical south Italian hilltowns, but unlike any other: Its immigrants have contributed to the building of Canada, Argentina, Brazil, the USA and Australia (not to mention the rest of Italy and Europe!).
From the autostrada, the towns are preceded by suburban houses (complete with lawns and fences) at various stages of completion. The old town centers feel very medieval... Great in summer when many former residents and families visit... close to ocean beaches, orchards, vinyards, and night life in the nearby beach resorts.
