John and Marian invite you to rent the Chestnut or the Ashtree Cottage situated on the McDonald farm at Lusmagh, Banagher, Co. Offaly only 1 Km from the River Shannon. The Chestnut Cottage has been lovingly restored, keeping as much as possible of the 'Old World' character of the cottage while adding all the modern comforts. This  property is Bord Failte (Irish Tourist Board) approved. It was the original home of the McDonald family for generations. It is located close to the main farmhouse, in a nice farm garden with an orchard.

Ashtree Cottage is designed for comfort, warmth and style by Marian and John McDonald, who would like nothing better than to welcome you to rent it for your visit to Ireland.  This house with character is brand new and is now included on our holiday rental properties for you to enjoy. It is an accommodation thoughtfully decorated in an Irish country cottage style and built to eco-friendly principles using the Geothermal system. Located on a farm only 2.5 miles from Banagher town in Co. Offaly, Ireland. The wide bridge which crosses the River Shannon to County Galway opens the way to tour the west of Ireland. Banagher is famous for its Irish music pubs, its river cruises, Bog walks and Rail tours, Great Fishing, (Pike fishing is particularly rewarding.), Excellent super markets and shops, Restaurants, and Hotels. Most of the pubs serve really good food also.
