Getting There in Pecs

Edit This
By air: Austrian Airlines flies from Vienna to the Pecs-Pogany Airport 4 times a week: http://www.aua.com/uk/eng .

By train:
From Budapest
If you come from Budapest using the railways might be the best choice. With Intercity trains it takes less than three hours to get to Pecs or to Budapest. Check the online timetable of the Hungarian Railways: http:///www.elvira.hu . There are some 5 trains daily

From Vienna
You can take the Corvinus Intercity train (started in Dec 2004), connecting Pécs and Vienna directly. Leaves Wien Südbahnhof at 06:57, arrives at 13:04. Return: leaves Pécs at 14:48, arrives at 21:33

From Sarajevo
There is one train that goes during the night. Again, check the above timetable for details.

By car:
From Budapest
Take road no. 6. Beware of its bad condition at some sections. Memorable ones are at km 100 and in the village of Kakasd.

Alternatively, if you'd like to get your wheels on Hungary's Road 66 :), you can start on Motorway no. 7 (heading Balaton), turn to south to Road 65, get on #61 in Tamási, and after Dombóvár (in Sásd) you enter Road Sixty Six.
