Thassos Island Travel Guide

The island of Thassos lies in the northern Aegean Sea,a short ferry trip from the mainland. The ferries run to and from Kerrimoti and Kavala. Some of the best marble is quarried on Thassos and shipped to the mainland. It is an almost circular shaped island with a mountainous interior. A good road gives easy access to fine beaches and mountain forests.The local buses give a good service runing both a clockwise and anticlockwise route around the island.
