Top 5 Must Do's in Stoupa
Edit ThisThe sleepy town of Stoupa on the coast of Greece is a superb holiday spot, and there are a good number of Stoupa Must Do’s which are not to be missed when traveling here. Stoupa has a number of small hotels and apartments, and as many as 20 restaurants and cafes, dotting the beach. This guide will show you the top five activities and places to visit when visiting Stoupa.
1. Beaches
Stoupa has three different beaches, all of which offer azure blue waters, powdery sand, and laid-back atmosphere. Rent a sun bed and parasol for the day and you will never regret this time spent. Other beachfront activities include a number of water sports besides swimming, such as pedalloes, banana boat rides, snorkeling, surfing, scuba diving, and parasailing.
2. Lazy Day Cruise
Tourists in the quaint town of Stoupa should not miss the "Lazy Day Cruise." The cruise boat takes passengers for a ride along the southern coast of the Peloponnese Peninsula. Passengers are taken to various spots along the ride where they can dive and swim in the calm blue sea. But that’s not all: after all that swimming, a good appetite can be satiated at the local restaurant in a stopover village. Once back on the cruise, you will have the chance to swim and dive once again, after which you will be dropped off at the harbor of Stoupa. This cruise is must-do attraction, as it brings out the true Greek culture.
3. Greek Cuisine
When in Stoupa, you should not miss out on authentic Greek fare, the most famous of which is the souvlaki. Head to Kosta’s for a freshly made souvlaki that can be taken away or eaten there. Other great restaurants include Akrogiali, which is superb for lunch, and Liastres for a good meal in the night. Melissa’s is a small family-run restaurant which also serves up superb meals.
4. Beachfront Apartment
If you happen to be traveling in a large group, with family, or even with your partner, there’s nothing like renting out your own beachfront apartment. The kids will have a ball of a time due to the proximity of the beach, and couples will find it romantic to be on the water. There are a great many beach-facing apartments and villas that you can rent upon arriving in Stoupa.
5. Hiking
When in Stoupa, a must-do activity is hiking around the Taygetos mountain range. Stoupa also has amazingly lush forests that can also be explored in a day. If you head to any local store, you will be able to pick up a guide book which lists local walks in the area.
