Tours and Excursions in Pilion

Edit This
The Pilion Railway is a historic railway in the Pilion (Pelion) peninsula, Central Greece. Its construction was completed in 1904.

For many decades it linked the village of Milies in the heart of the Pilion peninsula to main port city of Volos. Nowadays it is still exploited as a museum railway from Ano Lehonia on the coast to Milies in the mountains.

Currently this railway has two historic steam engines (built in Belgium in 1903 and 1912 respectively) and two new German-made diesel engines.  The old but very nice wooden carriages came from France.

The railway is operated by the Greek state railway company OSE and runs on Saturdays and Sundays only.
