Eating Out in Mykonos
Edit ThisYou can expect to find the majority of Mykonos restaurants on the eastern and southern areas of the island. It is these areas that fish is caught daily and the fresh breeze flows off the ocean, giving you the best restaurant experience possible. You will enjoy the scenery almost as much as the food itself and can find a restaurant on nearly every corner near the water.
When to EatMany of the restaurants on Mykonos are only open in the warmer seasons of the year and close for the winter due to low volume of customers. The best time to visit in order to get the best food selection is April-September. You will find plenty of restaurants open and happy to feed you any other time of the year, but you can expect many of them to be closed during that time. Mykonos restaurants are open early and stay open late, to about 1 or 2am.
Restaurant “Must-Try”The candle and lantern-lit garden area of Chez Marinas has been a favorite hot spot for years. Here you can listen to the live music or dance the night away while enjoying the garden full of bougainvilleas and cacti. Try the seafood or lamb entrees and enjoy the fresh vegetables for a set, affordable price. For a reasonably priced and delicious experience, head on out to Mamakas Mykonos (right by the taxi square) and try the large array of appetizers and dishes. Dine inside the century-old house or in the courtyard while surrounded by terra-cotta planters.
