In Kritsa town you'll find three interesting Byzantine churches: Agios Georgios, Agios Konstantinos and Agios Ioannis.
You will enjoy a leisurely walk in the numerous small allies of the old town.
For a more sporty experience, go to the impressive Krista gorge, 20 min. of walking N in the direction ot Tapes.
The main attraction, however, is Panagia Kera, a small 14th century Byzantine church, probably one of the best preserved of all Crete.

One km before you enter Kritsa from Agios Nikolaos, there is the very
small, old Byzantine church of "Panagia Kera", a unique location with
important Byzantine frescoes of the 14th and 15th century. Not to be
missed. Although this small site is not that massively frequented, it's
a good idea to go there early in the morning when tourists have not yet
arrived.
Opening times are from 9 am to 2 pm. Entry fee: € 4.00
