1. Beaches
The beaches of Corfu are some of the most beautiful in the world offering stunning views, clear waters, and a multitude of water sports - choose from jet skis, pedalos, banana boat rides, kayaking, water skiing, windsurfing, paragliding, kite surfing, snorkeling, and even scuba diving is available. 2. Kassiopi
This is a charming little fishing village on the north east corner of Corfu, with a traditional port. Here you can watch the local fishermen bring home their morning catch, or have a seat in one of the many harbour front bars and watch the world go by. The resort in Kassiopi is more inclined for those seeking a bit of lively nightlife. The beach in Kassiopi is a pebble beach, but there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. Showers, bathrooms, and changing rooms are available on the main beach. Make sure to glance up to your left on the hillside to see the remains of the Kassiopi Castle.
3. Sissi's Palace
Located in Achilleon, and built in 1892, Sissi's Palace is a lovely Corfu day trip loaded with breathtaking views and gorgeous gardens. The palace was built by Empress of Austria Elisabeth of Bavaria, also known as Sissi. She had the palace build on top of the mountain overlooking the sea on one side, and the mountains on the other, with the mythical hero Achilles as its central theme. Inside the palace you can visit the museum that houses the relics that Sissi collected, and her portraits. Tours are available, but to beat the crowds try to arrive in the early morning.
4. Palaiokastritsa
Considered to be one of most beautiful villages in Corfu, Paloikastritsa is a renowned tourist spot. Boasting 5 beautiful bays, a monastery high on the mountaintop, and ideal conditions for snorkeling and diving, leaves Palaiokastritsa a spot not to be missed. Some of the best seafood on the island can be found in this picturesque village in one of the many excellent restaurants scattered about town. Palaiokastritsa (meaning old castle place) is the place where Odysseus disembarked and met Nausicaa for the first time.
5. Aqualand
If you are traveling with children, then no trip
to Corfu will be complete without a stop to Aqualand - one of Europe's
largest water parks. The water is clean, the slides and attractions are
numerous, and the fun is unlimited. Opened daily from May - October.
