Nightlife and Entertainment in Gibraltar
Edit ThisGibraltar is a British territory located on the Iberian Peninsula near the entrance of the Mediterranean Sea. Even though the people of Gibraltar are considered British citizens, there is a varied mix of cultures present here due to the area's long history of settlers, including Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Spanish, and then British. Whether you travel around Gibraltar by day or explore the abundant Gibraltar Nightlife, you'll find a great deal of uniqueness and diversity no matter where you go.
The Star Bar
Gibraltar's oldest bar is located on Parliament Lane, just off of the main street at the end of Casemate's Square. The Star Bar is popular with local people and visitors, as it has a friendly ambiance and all newcomers are made to feel at home. They offer drinks and good food, and each sturdy oak table has an inlaid map of the area.
Lord Nelson's
Another bar located in Casemate's Square, Lord Nelson's is open later than most other establishments in the area, and sometimes has live music starting as late as 2am. This bar is the official home of the Gibraltar Rugby Club, and has been named Live Music Venue of the Year, showcasing top music acts on its stage every night. Not only do they have an abundant selection of drinks, but their on-site restaurant has been called "one of the best dining establishments in Gibraltar" by the locals who frequent here.
Ladbroke International Casino
Located in Gibraltar's town center, the Ladbroke International Casino offers casino gambling, gaming and slot machines, and has live entertainment, a popular restaurant, and a disco. You don't need to be a member to visit here, and like most casual casinos, it does not have a dress code.
Gibraltar Arms
Their motto is "Enjoy an evening out in one of Gibraltar's finest bars." Located on Main Street, the Gibraltar Arms offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, plus many varieties of draft beer. And if need to use the internet for something, then bring your laptop and use Gibraltar Arms' free WiFi service while you dine or drink.
O’Reilly's
Gibraltar's only authentic Irish Pub, O'Reilly's, opened on St. Patrick's Day, 2009. Located on Leisure Island, which is part of the Ocean Village Marina area, this traditional Victorian Irish bar was designed and built by the best architectural and design teams found in Ireland. You'll find a fantastic and authentic experience here, including Irish menu items and real Irish draft beer.
