There is a bar in Gibraltar that stands out from the rest Gibraltar bars and cafes, and this is the Star Bar, located on Parliament Lane (a crossing of Linewall Road). The bar is owned by 2 native Englishmen from Stafford—twin brothers John and Andy Hunter. They own other excellent establishments in Gibraltar as well, but the real must-visit is by no doubt the Star Bar.

The Atmosphere

Upon entering the bar, you can sit at one of the many cozy wooden tables and chairs. The walls are densely decorated with various pictures, photos and paintings. A few slot machines are available if you want to try your luck. You can watch some great football matches in here, and there is actually a whole corner of the bar decorated with photos of football teams. Live music events are held quite often to color up the atmosphere. The bar is a common gathering point for tourists, and they promote a story that once Christopher Columbus himself had a meal in the Star Bar.

The Menu

Star Bar impresses not only with its wide selection of drinks, but also with its extensive menu of well-prepared international-cuisine dishes. From the traditional British club sandwiches and Irish snacks to great Italian pizzas, to Mexican burritos, everything is prepared with taste and at the same time is very affordable.
