Mehring, located about 25 min. by car down the river behind Schweich, is for reasons that I don't know not as famous as many other places along the Mosel. To me that's quite strange for it is a very nice and quiet village, a good - and cheap - place to stay when you want to discover the Mosel by hiking or biking. Mehring is set in glorious Moselle scenery and within easy reach of Trier and Luxembourg. The village is renowned for its wines from the Goldkupp, Zellerberg and Blattenberg vineyards. On the last weekend in September the traditional Mehring wine-festival, with music, singing, dancing and games takes place.
