Düsseldorf on the Rhine (population 571,000) is directly accessible by the Autobahn roads A 3, A 44, A 46, A 52, A 57, A 59 and A 524. From Cologne it takes about 30 minutes (A 46), from Bonn 45 minutes and from Aachen 50 minutes (A57 & A44).
