Edit ThisDüsseldorf on the Rhine (population 571,000) is directly accessible by the Autobahn roads A 3, A 44, A 46, A 52, A 57, A 59 and A 524. From Cologne it takes about 30 minutes (A 46), from Bonn 45 minutes and from Aachen 50 minutes (A57 & A44).
by plane:
Düsseldorf International Airport is one of the three largest and a leading one for charter flights in Germany. Check their webpage for detailed flight informations. The S-Bahn leaves in 20 minute intervals for both city centre and main train station.
by train:
Düsseldorf Central Station is, in fact, central, at the south-eastern edge of the inner city. It forms a crossroads for the networks of the Deutsche Bahn AG, the S-Bahn commuter rail system and the U-Bahn. For travel enquiries call the Deutsche Bahn AG, tel. +49 (0)211 1 94 19 or check their webpage (http://www.db.de). The local public transport systems are run by the Rheinbahn.
