Bars and Cafes in DusseldorfEdit This
Dusseldorf, the capital city of the North Rhine-Westphalia state and the second most influential city (economically), sees an influx of tourists annually. Being an tourist city means providing visitors with a variety of entertainment, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Here (in no particular order) are some of the interesting bars and cafes scattered around the Dosseldorf metropolitan area, with a little something for everyone.
Buttershaker is located on Worringer Str. and is considered an American restaurant/bar/cigar lounge. Most visit for the bar atmosphere, resident and traveling DJ's, decent food, and unique cigar lounge in a bar ambiance. Buttershaker has a decent happy hour from 4pm to 7pm daily, offering discounts on food and drinks, and it can get quite lively late night on weekends. The clientele is young and trendy, and they like to dance. Buttershaker also has the capabilities for private parties.
Lauren's is located at Bismarckstr. 62, and is more along the line of a cafe/bar. Lauren's is the perfect place to meet up with friends and be able to have a conversation over cocktails and tapas. The menu is small and delicate, and the decor is simple and relaxing. If you are looking for a quiet drink and light meal, Lauren's is a great spot. The crowd is mixed, all ages, and the prices are moderate.
Cafe Liebevoll is located in Oberkassel, just off of Ratinger Str. This small cafe serves traditional German fare, with a long and extensive menu. The bar is quite lively, day and night. Locals and tourists both mingle within the walls of Cafe Liebevoll, where the food is great, and the cheer is merry. Cafe Liebevoll offers happy hour in the late afternoon on week days.
Bossa Nova is located on Neusser Str. and is considered a Brazilian cocktail bar and cafe. Bossa Nova has a very eclectic menu, serving traditional Brazilian dishes, traditional German dishes, and a fusion of both. At Bossa Nova they prepare fresh squeezed juices made to order, which they also use in cocktails, and the cocktail prices rival most of the other bars in Dusseldorf. It isn't hard to find Bossa Nova if you follow the stream of live music, which is played there 7 nights a week. It's a great spot for something off the beaten path.
Guzel Voyage is located at Konkordiastrasse 85, and at first you might be surprised to see the streaming line of patrons waiting for a table. This small bar/restaurant serves excellent Turkish cuisine. The menu is fairly small, but the food is amazing. Take a chance on any of the dishes offered and odds are you won't be let down. Guzel's can get quite lively in the evening, but be prepared to wait.
