Schwerin is the second largest city in "Mecklenburg-Vorpommern" and also the old residential seat of the Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The former royal residence and present state capital lies in the middle of one of Germany’s most beautiful lake districts, the "Mecklenburger Seenplatte".
