Museum of Modern Art

Founded in 1981, the latest addition to Frankfurt's museum world was baptized the "Tortenstück" (slice of cake) by locals, due to its triangular shape. The museum, designed by the Austrian architect Hans Hollein, exhibits modern art paintings, sculptures and environments by famous American and European artists such as Carl Andre, Dan Flavin, Donald Judd, Roy Lichtenstein, Walter De Maria, Claes Oldenburg and Andy Warhol, Joseph Beuys, Blinky Palermo, Reiner Ruthenbeck and Franz Erhard Walther.
