This "wine cellar" has been opened in 1896 and is literally located in the celler of Hamburg's famous Rathaus (City Hall). Additionaly to the very comfortable atmosphere the meals are a great deal; main dishes and menus are ranging from 10 - 50 $ and will easily satisfy you, both in size and quality! Very often reservations is required.

A wonderful local restaurant, with deep traditions in the Hamburg style. They have friendly service, and intimate atmosphere. Local specialties are seasonal, and include Spargel, Mai-Schollen, Neue Matjes, Pfifferlinge, Grunkohl, Gansebrust.

Labskaus is a speciality and absolutely delicious. Don't miss out on the Bratkartoffeln, German Fried Potatoes, or the pfifferlinge chanterelle mushrooms if they are in season.

The Matjes herrings are heavenly!
