Budget Airlines
Edit ThisIn the past few years budget airlines have become extremely popular and the flight prices are often lower than even a bus ticket and almost certainly lower than most trains. There are currently 6 budget airlines which serve multiple destinations from and within Germany: www.flydba.com (mainly domestic), www.germanwings.com, www.hlx.com, www.airberlin.com, www.easyjet.com (German hub at Berlin-Schoenefeld), www.ryanair.com (drawback: their German hub is at the awful-to-reach "Frankfurt-Hahn", which is not in or near Frankfurt at all); add to this a flurry of mainly Eastern European budget airlines which serve one or a few German destinations. The main budget airports are Cologne-Wahn, Stuttgart and Berlin- Schoenefeld, but some of the above companies, in particular AirBerlin and DBA can be found at many other German airports.
