Bars and Cafes in Bremen

Edit This

The bars and cafes of Bremen range from cozy Irish pubs to airy modern bars. It's easy to find a place to go out that suits your personality and mood. Most bars have very distinctive themes and decor. Obviously, the more trendy and modern the bar or cafe, the more expensive the drinks are going to be. Most bars in Bremen offer a light food menu as well.

Traditional Themed Bars

There is a surprising amount of Irish pubs in the city and they're actually rather good options for a night out on the town. Hagarty's is one with a very genuine feel. It's a popular bar for students and has great beer for a reasonable price. Live music is provided on the weekends. The Irish Pub in Schnoor, the historic district of Bremen, is cozy and quaint. It's close to the river and located in a subtle location off the main roads. The beer is excellent in this bar as well.

For a warm, relaxed Cuban style bar, check out La Habana near the Schlachte. It's right in the heart of Bremen, especially great on a warm, summer night. The music is jazzy and sensual.

Trendy Bars

For a more modern, trendy bar, try Litfass. Here you'll find a huge selection of creative cocktails using a wide variety of alcohols and other ingredients. Somewhat contrasting with the decor and atmosphere, is the music. At Litfass, they play alternative music from the 80s and 90s, so be sure to go only if you like that type of music. The bartenders are very helpful and friendly. Another modern bar is Schmidt; it's cool and open with a black and white style. It's more expensive than Litfass, but has an amazing selection of wines as well as light meals.

Cafes

Bremen has some incredible cafes, some of which don't even seem like cafes. Take Cafe Sand, for example, this cafe is open air and has access to the only sandy beach in the city along River Weser. Volleyball courts are available as are lounge chairs. The Sunday breakfast buffet is a great value. At 8 Euros per person you can choose from tons of breakfast items, both hot and cold. Additionally, Cafe Sand has Wi-Fi.

Also centrally located in the Katzen Cafe. It's specialties include cappuccino, home brewed beer, and wine from its extensive wine bar. It is a cozy place that hosts events as well.

Cafe Ambiente has lush garden views and an elegant style. Food as well as drinks are offered here, but most impressive is the huge selection of drinks. Fresh coffees and hot chocolate of all types are on the menu in addition to specialties in both categories including, Mexican Coffee, Irish Coffee, Orange Coffee, Macchiato Freddo, Carribbean Cocolate, and Brazilian Chocolate. Non alcholic drinks include  milkshakes, fresh fruit juices, and lemonade, while alcholic drinks include mulled wine, grog, conac, fruit brandy, cocktails, champagne, and schnapps, to name a few. Prices range from 2 to 4 Euros for most drinks.
