When to Go in Prenzlauer Berg
Edit ThisThe best time to head over to Prenzlauer Berg is really anytime. Prenzlauer Berg is centrally located in the heart of Berlin within the borough of Pankow. The city is alive with pubs, restaurants, galleries and cafes that create a wonderful daily and nightly entertainment adventure for the intrepid and inquisitive explorer. The city of Berlin, a well known art center of the world, was bombed heavily during World War II, yet Prenzlauer Berg was one of the areas that escaped major damage. With this in mind it is easy to see how some of the most historic and ancient buildings of early Germany are still standing and can be a wonderful daily escape for the adventurers who are so inclined. The town is full of artists and painters, many of whom are American and European ex-patriots who have come to Berlin for the cheaper downtown rentals. The reason for exodus into Berlin and more specifically, Prenzlauer Berg, is because of the high cost of rental apartments in other art centers of the world such as New York, London, Paris, and Amsterdam. To say that the Bohemian lifestyle is part of Prenzlauer Berg would be correct yet there is a family atmosphere as well and also a very young population. The best time to see the people of Berlin is now.
Winter in Prenzlauer
The cold of the winter makes for a special occasion for those travelling into
Germany and especially Berlin. The streets are lined with lights and snow has
fallen and actually stuck almost immediately to everything that is outdoors. The
wonderland of the winter can be seen as the cold, blowing wind that sends a chill
down the back of any traveler and makes the adorning of a thick coat not just a
fashion statement yet a requirement. But winter also brings about great beer
parties and the local, now closed, breweries such as Pfefferberg and
Kulturbrauerei offer up some really great entertainment and lively get
together’s around a roaring fire. The street bands that can be heard even over
the cheering crowds make a trip to Prenzlauer a trip that will not soon be
forgotten. Berlin is a city of life and history and one in which an entire
lifetime can be spent. The average adventurer does not have enough time to fully
enjoy everything that Berlin has to offer as this would really be a lifetime
quest.
