Museums in Prenzlauer Berg
Edit ThisOne of the exciting locations within the city of Berlin is the cutting edge region of Prenzlauer Berg. You'll find extraordinary
creativity and artwork, due to the fact that it's very appealing district to up
and coming artists from all over Europe and America. You'll also find one of the premier historical repositories in Germany, the Prenzlauer Berg Museum.
A 3-in-1 Museum
The Prenzlauer Berg Museum combines three different museums into one location. There are three permanent exhibitions on display that capture the history of three specific districts in Berlin. Those three districts include:
- Weissensee
- Pankow
- Prenzlauer Berg
The Weissensee exhibition hall contains historical photographs and texts that vividly capture the corridors of a school that dates back to 1886. One can almost see the students poring over the textbooks and visualize the learning that takes place.
The second permanent exhibition hall reflects historical memorabilia from a school located in Rykestr. This Jewish school was founded in the year 1904, and was closed in 1941. Obviously, the closing has significant ramifications and recollections due to the historical plight of the Jews in Germany.
The third exhibition hall is a pictorial display of everyday life from the Prenzlauer Berg district in Berlin. The time frame of this pictorial display ranges from 1949 to 1990.
