Tadshikische Teestube

Edit This

If you are touring Berlin-Mitte and you need a rest, stop at the "Tadshikische Teestube" (Tajikistan teahouse). You can take off your shoes, stretch out on oriental-style cushions, relax and feel like a "pasha". Let yourself be enchanted by an interiour of traditional Tadjik paintings on the wall and carved wooden beams!
The Teestube has a a huge assortment of teas. You can get everything from earl grey to Russian tea with rum, from green tea to cherry tea...They also offer some Russian snacks and cakes. You shouldn't miss the "Russischer Zupfkuchen", a kind of mix between a chocolate- and cheesecake, that is served with cream. Yummy!

By the way: the Teestube doesn't just have a beautiful interior and great tea, but also a curious history. It was donated by the USSR to the GDR as a present.

Location:
The Teestube is located in the "Palais am Festungsgraben", right behind the "Neue Wache" at Unter den Linden, and next to the German Historical Museum in Berlin-Mitte.

Opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 5 p.m. to midnight
Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 3 p.m. to midnight
(If you want to visit the Teestube in the evening or on weekends it's better to make a reservation in advance, because it is often very crowded.)
