Flea Market

One of the nicest flea markets is held every Sunday at Arkonaplatz in Mitte district. Old tenement houses with their working-class history surround the square. In the middle are several rows of market stands under the chestnut trees with their autumn colours. The selection ranges from bizarre household objects to gladden the hearts of people nostalgic for bygone East Germany, to a large assortment of books and the objects of 60s and 70s design that are so popular right now and cost three times as much in other places.
