Although Berlin is full of hotels, it isn't easy to get a room at the last minute. It's essential to book at least three months in advance. In Eastern Berlin you particularly find very chic hotels around the historic city center. The hotels in the western area are mainly grouped within a few steps of the Kurfürstendamm. The more inexpensive hotels are in the outlaying areas such as Charlottenburg or Schoneberg. As in most cosmopolitan cities, the different city quarters vary greatly in atmosphere, life style, and offerings. Therefore, you will find a separate accommodation section for the various city districts, including Berlin Mitte, Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain and Prenzlauer Berg.
