Edit ThisNuremberg (Nürnberg) has a conveniently located airport at the Northern edge of the city. Air-Berlin, for example, offers many connections to major European cities. A metro station is right outside of the airport building. The metro brings you right into the inner city within 15-20 min.

Nuremberg is very well connected in all directions. High speed ICE trains go to, for example, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, etc.
The local network of metro, tram, s-bahn (city trains), buses is extensive and affordable.
