Edit This

Brechtesgaden family travel can be filled with fun activities and sights. Filled with great adventures, Brechtesgaden family travel is easy and delightful for the entire family with sights and parks alike.

Salt Mines

The kids will be filled with excitement, as they take the guided tour on a small wagon train through mines that operated from around 1517. Dressed in protective miners' gear the family can amuse themselves by sliding down a miner's slide and ferrying across the salt lake in the bottom of the mine. Visit the chapel that contains strange and unusual salt formations that are lit up to give a little tingle down the spine.  With adventures down wooden slides wearing the mining rig, remember to smile and bring extra money to purchase pictures that are taken of the family tour throughout the visit.

Watzmann Therme

With lots of splashing fun for the whole family, even the smallest will enjoy the Watzmann water theme park with an 80-meter long slide and generous wading pools for the younger members of the family. This park is a great way to spend an afternoon together. There is also a health and wellness spa inside the facility. Some nudity may exist inside the spa but the kids will be plenty occupied with the splashing and swimming in the pools outside. Adults can take a sauna or soak in the thermal pools and be pampered while the kids wear themselves out at the pools and slides.

Lake Cruises

Take a lake trip on an electric boat to St. Bartholona, visit the church and have lunch at the nearby hunting lodge. During the boat ride across the lake, the tour guide may sound a trumpet so the travelers can hear the echo from across the mountains. A short walk from the boat launch, the family can peer down at the end of the valley to see beautiful Lake Obarsee and the Rothbach Waterfall.

The Eagle's Nest

Take the family on a historical venture that they will not soon forget when the family hops a bus to the top of the 1834 meter tall Mount Kehlstein. Tour this lodge and learn how it was the headquarters for the Nazi government under Hilter. Explore the museum and have lunch at the restaurant that is situated in the lodge.
