In this German municipality in the Bavarian Alps, a large number of Berchtesgaden restaurants can be found. Visitors to this bountiful town will be spoiled for choices, not just with original Bavarian cuisine, but also Italian, Turkish, Chinese and Greek restaurants.

Gasthof Goldener Bar

Situated in Weiachtsschutzen Street, this restaurant and bar serves up local delicacies like Germany ' s renowned sausages and a big choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian entrees. Entrees are priced at anything between $10 and $18. There's an outdoor beer garden that screens matches for sports enthusiasts.

Villa Regina

If you happen to be on the look-out for a gourmet style restaurant, a must try is Villa Regina in Kalbersteinstrasse, known for its Italian food. Strangely, in spite of the good quality food and its presentation, the cost is not as expensive as would be expected of a fancy restaurant. Visitors can choose seating either in the outdoor or indoor restaurant.

Café Spiesberger

This quaint little café on Maximilian Street offers nothing but homemade delicacies like sandwiches that cost anything between $6 and $14. The café is also known for its variety of chocolate candies and warm beverages. The entire café is complete with wooden benches, and seating is set within porcelain-adorned walls. The café is open from Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Gasthof Bier Adam

This restaurant located in the marketplace is one of those which are frequented by a large number of locals. Here you'll be able to sample true Bavarian specialties like the spicy Sauerkraut and pork roast. Back in the day when it was opened in 1546, only beer was served here along with Bavarian food, but now the restaurant has extended the menu to include wine. Prices on the menu generally vary between $20 and $30. It is open every day from 8:30 a.m. to midnight.

Hobelbank im Hohen Goll

Located in Berchtesgaden Strabe, this cozy family run hotel offers a good view of the Watzmann Mountains while you dig in to delicious meals. The restaurant is known for traditional Bavarian food and also for its steaks and ribs. You can make an early trip here for a nicely cooked breakfast. However, Hobelbank Restaurant is also known for their slow service. But with a view like what this restaurant offers, it won't really be much of an issue! A meal here generally would cost approximately $20.
