Shopping in Ulm

By taking your time, you can browse through all of the little shops that are located along the streets, but you will also ensure that you don’t miss anything. If you rush while you are shopping you never know what you might miss.
Gondrom
If you are a book lover, you must stop into this bookstore at least once during your trip. There are hundreds of books inside this bookstore which you can spend hours browsing through and you will still want to come back for more. In addition to all of the books that they sell, you will also found some nice little souvenirs to choose from. For example, you can postcards that are made from tiny slivers of painted wood; you can also find picture-style postcards.
Rottler
The main items sold at Rottler’s are smoking supplies, but they actually sell a little bit of everything. Inside of Rottler, you will find numerous treasures that you won’t find elsewhere in Ulm. Rottler’s is like your one stop shop for everything, if you can’t find it in a big store chances are you can find it here.
Muensterplatz
If you are looking for jewelry stores, clothing stores, or just want to do some window-shopping, you will want to visit this area. This area is filled with a variety of shops; your bigger shops are located along the main street of Hirschstrasse located near the cathedral. You can also find smaller less frequented shops if you venture down some of the smaller side streets. If you are visiting during the summer months you will also be able to stroll through a Gassenfest, which is a mini-fair located along the side streets.
Café Troglen
If you enjoy chocolate, you must stop in and buy some of the chocolate sparrows. Although other cafes sell chocolate sparrows, Café Troglen has some of the best ones. Not only will you be able to buy some of the best chocolates, you can also buy some interesting souvenirs, including wooden and metal sparrows and a miniature Ulmer Schachtel.
Fischer und Gerberviertel
The Fishermen’s Quarters is not nearly as busy as the Ulm city center. When visiting Fishermen’s Quarters you will find a handful of unique boutiques, including art galleries, beauty farms and antique dealers. The Fishermen’s Quarters also has plenty of places where you can sit outside while enjoying a refreshing drink on a warm day.
