Edit ThisOn the site of a medieval castle dating back to the 11th century, now stands the Renaissance Schloss Hohentubingen. It houses a museum (Schausammlung der Universitat) that you can visit for 4 DM and there are guided tours available.

Burgsteige
Edit ThisThe Burgsteige is a small street leading from the Markt to the Schloss Hohentubingen. Very handsome, with many nice renaissance houses and mansions.

St. Georg
Edit ThisThe Gothic Church of St. Georg is located on the Holzamrkt ans has a very beautiful interior. The chancel has stunning stained-glass windows. You can climb the tower with the 2 DM ticket.

Markt
Edit ThisThe Markt is the old heart of Tubingen. The houses around it are excellent. The fountain of Neptune in the middle is the centre around which markets are held on mondays, wednesdays and fridays.

Holderlinturm
Edit ThisHoldelrin was probably the most romantic of all German poets. He lived here for the last 36 years of his life, when he was somewhat crazy, but still managed to write great poems. Entrance costst 3 DM. Address: Bursagasse (on the Neckarbanks). Alicia Clary: Hölderlin's poetry is not easy to understand. Don't visit this tower if you can not appreciate it.
