Bars and Cafes in Heidelberg

Finding a nice place to have a little rest and drink a coffee is not a problem in Heidelberg. Both the flair as student town and the many international visitors ensure a broad variety of bars and cafes.

Pub on the same street leading off the Hauptstrasse to the Old Bridge. A brewery and a restaurant. Great beer, good food. Beer to go in bottles (if you live there!). Cozy in winter and open in the summer. Good choice!

Dubliner

The Dubliner Pub is a great two-floor establishment located on the Hauptstrasse (main street) halfway between the castle area and the Bismarkplatz. Catch sporting events including American football, rugby, and lots of soccer on the big screen and several television sets. Different nightly events from Irish music to Trivia quiz help bring in the college age folks and the quality Irish environment brings in everyone of all ages. Try the large cheeseburgers and a guinness or strongbow for the young. More mature folks might enjoy the hot whiskey or irish coffee.

Schwimbad

A fun club that hosts bands on Fridays and Saturdays. Check the purple listings that are found around the city. To get there take bus 33 to Schwimmbad from the Bismarckplatz or Hauptbahnhof. Cost is 4 euros on days that there is a live band.

A nice Mexican takeaway with a metro twist. The menu is many of wraps, tortillas and so forth, but do not be put off; the freshness and flavour of the food is second to none.
Gino's has seating indoors and outdoors, and has a wall plastered with money from around the wall.
