It is a museum of urban history, awarded a "Museum of France" quality mark. Designed specifically for a wider public, its contemporary layout tries to reflect the best of the monument and its works.
Once a ducal palace, the Museum exhibits both chronologically and thematically in 32 rooms, from the basements to the attics. The entire collection, delicately arranged in seven sequences, is displayed by multimedia installations as well as historic items.
