If you are visiting Nantes, when to go is something you need to consider. The city has a picturesque landscape and also has a temperate climate. This temperate climate can bring rainfall every week. The rainfall does not occur for long, though, so it is a welcome respite. Even the summer days are not as humid as other places. There are only a few days in which people experience high temperatures.
Best Months to Go
Since the summer season rarely brings hot temperatures and the winter has cold temperatures, tourists can visit any time of the year, but the most recommended times are the summer months from July to August. You can enjoy the scenic places, majestic castles, mosques and beautiful churches like the Basilica of Saint-Louis and the Santa Croix Church. There are also many museums to visit like the Museum of Nantes.
Festival Months
You can visit Nantes in the months of October to September because there are various enjoyable festivals held within these months. These are the Festival Les Celtomania, which is a celebration of Breton culture and arts. The Solidaire du Chocolat, which is a sailboat race from Nantes to Mexico. Towards the end of November, one of the biggest international annual events in cinematography is held with Africa, Asia and Latin America competing with each other in this colorful and exciting Festival of the Three Continents. By the end of January, an international jumping competition called the Jumping International de Nantes is held. There are still many local celebrations which you could enjoy. It is city of constant merriment.
