Getting There in Lille
Edit ThisCloser to Brussels than Paris and within easy reach of London lies the northern French city of Lille. Getting there from other parts of France or other countries in Europe is quick and easy.
By Train
The Eurostar, the high-speed train that travels under the English Channel, connects central London with Lille in 90 minutes and Brussels to Lille in only 30 minutes. Trains from Paris take an hour or a little more depending on the time of day and day of the week. Connections from Charles De Gaulle airport on the outskirts of Paris leave frequently for the 50-minute trip to Lille.
By Air
The majority of flights in and out of Lille connect through a hub. However, Ryan Air, one of Europe's cut-rate airlines, serves Lille direct from 2 southern destinations, Marseille, France and Porto, Portugal. For more options, including destinations in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, the UK, and Morocco, Ryan Air flies into Brussels which has easy train connections to Lille. A shuttle service between the airport and each of the city's 2 railway stations runs daily from early morning until late at night. Air France offers a selection of other direct destinations in France and connections to cities throughout Europe and North Africa.
By Car
Lille is at the crossroads of several major toll roads, or autoroutes . From Paris, the trip on the A1 takes a little over 2 hours. Brussels is about 80 minutes on the A10 and A14, and the Channel ports of Dunkerque and Calais, along the A25, are barely an hour and a little over an hour, respectively, from Lille.
