It covers the time from when he was kidnapped and taken to William the Duke of Normandy until his eventual return, victory and crowning when he became King of England. Mont-St. Michel
Adults and children will adore this abbey where the archangel Michael is said to have appeared. In the eighth century, the bishop of Avranches claimed the Michael had appeared to him. To honor the occasion, he created the beginnings of the abbey that still stands today. The abbey became such a source of inspiration for the local people that the continued adding to it for the next 800 years. The site as it stands today is nothing short of magic and one of the most sought after tourist attractions in the region.
Rouen
Rouen is a small medieval town in the region of northern France. It is the perfect size to walk through in an afternoon. Rouen is packed full of half-timbered houses that have been kept in pristine condition. There is also an old clock tower which visitors are welcome to climb via the inside staircase. Young children will also enjoy the Petit or little train ride that takes them through the old part of the town on a 45 minute loop.
