Edit ThisThe Domain is an area of 19,500 acres includings monuments and grounds exceptionally preserved, with 15,750 acres offorest, offering to the visitors a cultural location whose diversity and wealth make a unique destination. The Domain is a proof of the discernment and the will of Princes who made it up. Its Castle and forests belonged to the most famous families of french history.
In 1886, after eight centuries of occupancy by renowned inhabi tants, the Castle and its outbuildings were bequeathed to the Institut de France by the last owner: the Duke d'Aumale.
