Getting There in Pezenas

Edit This

When planning your trip to Pezenas, getting there is the first decision you have to make. Either of these options is ideal for getting to Pezenas from North America:

Plane + Train/Car

Since Pezenas isn't among the biggest French cities, you can't book a flight directly there from North America. However, if you search out tickets to nearby French cities, such as Montpellier, which is only 41 miles northeast of Pezenas, you're unlikely to be getting the best deal. Plane tickets from just about anywhere in North America to Montpellier cost an average of $1,100 to $1,300. Tickets to Paris, which is 450 miles north of Pezenas, range from $550 to $850.

The best option that properly balances convenience with price may be to fly to Marseilles, which is 140 miles east of Pezenas, and for which you can find a plane ticket for somewhere between $650 and $900. Driving to Pezenas from Marseilles will take you about 2 1/2 hours or you can take a train to Montpellier first (1 hour, €27) and then drive the 50 minutes to Pezenas.

Cruise

If you prefer a more leisurely path to Pezenas, you can take a cruise from the East Coast to France. Cruises tour nearby cities such as Beziers, from which you can drive to Pezenas, 14 miles to the northeast, in only about 30 minutes. Or you can get off the cruise in Montpellier or Marseilles and follow the suggested directions under the Plane + Train/Car section. A typical cruise from North America to France can last 5 to 20 days, depending on the number of stops. Prices range from $1,200 to $2,200 on average. Plan a cruise trip sometime between May and October, as cruises don't always operate during the winter.
