Eating Out in Pezenas
Edit ThisUnless you plan to rent a house or an apartment for your stay in Pezenas, you will be visiting quite a few Pezenas Restaurants. Eating in the local restaurants is one of the best ways to experience the local food, so even if you do stay in a house or an apartment for your stay you will want to go out to eat a few times just for the experience.
L’Entre Pots
This is 1 of the best restaurants in town, but it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. The restaurant has a great wine list, but it is recommended that you try a local wine called “Elixir” from Domaine Condamine Bertrand. For a starter the chef recommends escargots (snails) or cepes et pieds de porc (mushrooms and pigs feet). For your main course the le ris de blanquetee (sweetbread stew) and legumes aux girolles (vegetables with chanterelles) comes highly recommended.
Restaurant Pre Saint Jean
One of the best things about this restaurant is Chef Philippe Cagnoli. The items listed on the menu are catered to just about every taste, so there is truly something for everyone. Another addition to the menu is the cooking sauces that they use on majority of the dishes because the sauces enhance the food. They also have an extensive wine list to choose from.
Les Marronniers
If you are looking for a great restaurant that is popular with the locals, you will want to visit Les Marronniers during the lunch hour. One of the best things about this restaurant is that the menu can change on a daily basis. The menu for the day is written on a blackboard. During the warm summer months, you can enjoy your meals outside on the terrace or you can remain inside.
Le Nouveau Printemps
Even if the bar located downstairs is closed this restaurant is worth stopping in for. When coming in to dine one thing that you should try is the Kangaroo steak. Even though it is not what you would expect to find on a menu it is very tasty and very tender. For an appetizer, the fish soup is very acceptable, but so are the fromages.
Le Pannequet
The wine list is extensive; it also features several local wines. For an appetizer, you should try out the crabe-mayo, while for your main dish you can try out the foie gras poele baignant dans l’huile. The seafood is an excellent choice because it is always caught fresh from the coast of France.
