Chateau de Flaugergues
This chateau was renovated from 1696 to 1730 by Etienne de Flaugergues, councillon to the revenue court of Montpellier and has some of the best architecture and design in the area. The house includes original features and furniture as well as beautiful lands and gardens and a winery. Here you can take a tour and have a great wine tasting. Prices are approximately €6.50 a person but can vary depending on the size of group you have. The Chateau is open every day except Monday.
Place de la Comedie
This is the main focal point of the city of Montpellier. It is a busy
central part of the city with many beautiful buildings, cafes and some
shopping opportunities. In the center is a fountain called the "Three
Graces" which was sculpted in 1790 and is located very close to the main train
station.
Musee Fabre
This art museum is one of the best in the area. It is very close to the center of the city and houses many displays of local and international art. Displays include ceramics from Greece and other European countries and sculptures and painting from the 17th through 19th centuries. The museum offers guided tours for groups, families and individuals.
Dining
Montpellier is one of the best places to find exquisite food and wine. One of these places is Le Grillardin which is hailed by many as the best place to eat in the area. Prices are relatively high but the food is worth the price.
