Located in a former private mansion, it houses very interesting prehistoric, protohistoric, Gallo- Roman, Roman, Greek, Etruscan, Egyptian, Medieval (Romanesque sculptures) and classical (ceramics)collections.

Fabre Museum

You acceed to it through the inner courtyard of the former Jesuit college. Created by Montpellier painter François Xavier Fabre in 1825, it is now one of France's most famous museums. It houses Flemish, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and French collections, featuring works from painters of the main Western European schools of painting of the 16th and 18th centuries (Zurbaran, Reynolds, Tenier, Véronèse...) as well as from many famous French painters (Greuze, Ingres, Delacroix, Courbet, Bazille,...). You will also find find ceramics, scuptures and contemporary paintings.

Created in 1972, this museum gathers numerous documents about ancient and current pharmacy in Montpellier and its whereabouts.

Atger Museum

It contains a wonderful collection of drawings from the Flemish, Italian, Dutch, German and French schools of painting, patiently collected by art lover Xavier Atger who bequeathed it to the Faculty of Medicine in the 19th century. The library of this Faculty also houses numerous invaluable manuscripts from the 8th to the 19th centuries and a remarkable collection of Flemish local masters' drawings dating from the Renaissance to the 19th century.
