Béziers - Located at the heart of Languedoc-Roussillon, the Béziers-Méditérranée urban community occupies a privileged position, both in terms of tourism and economic potential: lying halfway between the coast and the «hauts cantons» valleys, it constitutes a community with a strong identity, firmly rooted in Occitan culture.
To make the most of these assets, 13 towns (Bassan, Boujan-sur-Libron, Cers, Corneilhan, Espondeilhan, Lieuran-les-Béziers, Lignan-sur-Orb, Sauvian, Sérignan, Servian, Villeneuve-les-Béziers, and Valras-Plage) totaling a population of over 100,000, decided to join forces and build a common future. Béziers-Méditerranée has what it takes to rise up to the major challenges of today : combining industrialization and quality of life, economic development and managed urbanization, cultural identity and opening up to others.
