Bars and Cafes in Nice
Edit ThisThe best Nice Bars and Cafes that you can visit are going to be the ones that are filled with locals. The local bars and cafes will allow you to get a glimpse at life in Nice, and you can try the local dishes.
Café du Palais
Café du Palais is located in Old Town and is the perfect place to come and grab some much needed liquid refreshment after a few hours of strolling around the streets of Old Town. Café du Palais is located in a busy area across from the Palace of Justice. Being located in a busy area makes the café even more pleasurable to visit because you can sit back and people watch.
La Civette du Cours
Located in Old Town, Nice La Civette du Cours is a great place to visit at any time during the day. La Civette du Cours is bathed in sunshine all throughout the day, which makes it a great spot to sit back and enjoy a drink with family and friends. One thing to take note of is that during the evening La Civette du Cours turns into the local gay hang out, but everyone is still welcome to come and eat or drink.
Bliss Bar
Bliss Bar is located in the old part of town and is a great place to go if you want to experience life in Nice rather than a tourist’s view of the town. Bliss Bar is in an area that is not frequented by tourists, although a handful does come in from time to time. Inside the bar, you will have entertainment provided by a DJ, no matter what night of the week you come in. More importantly, you will be able to mingle with the locals while enjoying the atmosphere.
L’Ovale
If you are looking for a place to go that serves local food, this is the place to go. If you are coming for a meal, you want to try the specialty called “Assiette de Charcuterie.” This is served as a starter, but is very filling so can be used for a meal or even a starter for as large group. Tourists do not overrun L’Ovale because not very many tourists know about the place. It's a great place to go if you want to get a taste of the local atmosphere.
Brasserie Felix Faure
This is a great place to come and grab a bite to eat after a fun night out; the cafe is open later than most other cafes in Nice. You can find this place in the Old Town across from the gardens. In terms of food, you will find the usual local food, which includes seafood. The steaks are good, but the pizzas are better.
