Loue valley Travel Guide

This is a wonderful valley in the Département of Doubs. Its source is immensely picturesque with pools and waterfalls and just about every mile is a delight. A splendid camp site is described under accommodation for Franche-Comte.

The village of Ornans is worth a visit and the stretch from the source to Ornans may well be the very best - but don't miss the rest!. As well as very picturesque houses overhanging the river, it has a museum devoted to Courbet, who did much painting in this area.
