Fabulous rivers Travel Guide

The Département of Doubs is home to some of the best river scenery in all France. The Loue is described separately but the Doubs, itself, the Lison, the Hérisson and the Dessoubre all present outstanding valley views. The falls of the Hérisson should definitely be on your mustvisit list but you may prefer not to arrange this for a weekend - masses of french people and their children will be there to appreciate it and it's noisy - like NOISY!

The sources of the Lison and the Dobs are other special places. The Dessoubre is more unsung but tis source at the Cirque de Cosolation should on no account be missed.
