Eating Out in Mulhouse

French Restaurants
Of course, being in France, you’re going to come across a lot of French restaurants. Most of these restaurants fall in the range of moderate to high end. You’ll spend approximately $20 to $30 on a dinner here. Most places serve a mixture of French and Alsatian foods. One of the best restaurants you’ll find here is Gargantua. It’s a nice restaurant that both visitors and locals have given the highest of praises. Another great restaurant to check out is Auberge St-Lauren which is a family owned local restaurant that serves local specialties. Depending on the season you can find good local menus. You’ll probably spend around $20 here for a good, filling meal.
Asian Restaurants
In Asian countries it’s common to find great French restaurants. It would seem the opposite holds true for France. Here you can find good Asian restaurants serving everything from Indonesian to Japanese delicacies. Pum is one of the Thai restaurants in the area. On average you’ll spend around $23 here for a meal. They serve a wide variety of noodle and stir fry dishes all in Thai style cooking. Knowing their patrons of the area, they’ll even adjust the intensity of their spices for whatever your tastes are. So don’t worry if you’re not into spicy food! Another Asian selections is in the Old Town section of Mulhouse. Le Samourai is a traditional Japanese restaurant that serves a variety of fresh sushi, sashimi and yakitori. Prices here also seem to lie around that $23 mark.
Pubs and Bars
Pub food is one of the best most inexpensive ways to really taste the regional foods of the area. At an average price of $8 to $15 a meal you can dine inexpensively and still get the rich flavors of the area. Most pub food consists of sandwiches and the like but some places might have a full dinner type meal. One place you’ll find good pub food is La Grignotte Montaign. Here you’ll pay a stunning average price of around $6 or $7 for a meal. They specialize in mostly Alsatian cuisine.
